NYCHA Lead Abatement Program, Citywide

Johnson & Asberry provides community outreach, resident engagement, and relocation services for NYCHA’s citywide Tempo Lead Abatement Program. Our team of eleven outreach specialists operates across all five boroughs to introduce the program to residents with positive lead components through grassroots door knocking, apartment walkthroughs, and ongoing relocation support. We coordinate the handoff of apartment keys, relocation packages, and logistics to ensure residents are fully supported throughout the process.

J&A manages NYCHA-mandated relocations assigned by the agency’s Elevated Blood Lead Level and Legal departments. Our relocation team oversees all aspects of each move, including booking hotel accommodations, issuing food and travel vouchers, and addressing resident questions or concerns throughout their temporary relocation.

We build and maintain strong relationships with property management teams and tenant association boards to foster trust and ensure outreach efforts are effective and culturally responsive. These relationships play a key role in increasing resident participation and helping the program run smoothly.
